Packzi eating contest

Our favorite season following Christmas is Packzi season.  It only lasts about 8 weeks and we take full advantage.  It is where several grocery stores make these delicious jelly filled donuts that are glazed, powdered or cinnamon sugar on the outside.  Our family's favorite are lemon and cherry.  Well Chad got the chance to participate in a Packzi eating contest at work and pulled off the win for an amazon gift card! It wasn't the prize that was of most importance but the pride and excited of his boys.  The boys were so proud of their dad that day!

Star Cub

We found out that Camden got to be the star cub on Friday. He was showing qualities of a kind cub and was doing his work even when those around him were not. That meant he got to wear his Star Cub shirt all day and he was very proud! He was also chosen at the beginning of the week for the P.A.W (positive actions and words) award. These kids get recognized for their hard work on Mondays. It was a great week for Camden!

Defy Gravity

The older boys; school had a fund raiser for the PTO at defy gravity so we took advantage of it and went right after school to bounce for a while. I took my good camera to try and get some good action shots.  Defy gravity is one of the boys favorite things to do and a great way to burn off some energy.

Kaci's Birthday Party

Last Saturday we got a chance to hit the town for a fun surprise party for my friend Kaci.  We dropped the kids off at Al and Karens and went to Misty's (the place we first met) for a drink, since it was only 4:30 :).  Then we headed down to the Lazlo's in the Haymarket where we were suppose to meet up with the birthday girl and other couples.  We had a drink in the bar and then sat down for dinner.  Kaci was happy and surprised to see us all there.  Then we acted like college students and went to the bars downtown for a little bit after dinner.  It was a fun night out, acting like college kids that don't have 3 boys waiting for them at home.  But we also realized we were the old people at the bar and that we love the 3 little blessings we have at home.  Happy Birthday Kaci!

Basketball Fun

Carter has played on a City Rec team this year for basketball. It has 2nd and 3rd graders playing together as well as boys and girls.  Carter has a fun team with kids from different schools but he knows a lot of them.  Even though he loves his team and LOVES basketball this season hasn't been the most fun for the boys because they got annihilated their first 3 games.  Thankfully they were seeded after that and have now played teams that are more along their line of ability.  This last game on Friday night went really well and they only lost by 2 points and played a great game.  Carter really loves basketball and we really want him to be able to play for fun.  However with all sports changing and becoming so competitive, we are not sure how much longer he can play and still have fun.  Getting completely annihilated every game is not fun for anyone.  But, the last few games have been good and he has had a lot more fun.  I got a few pictures of him playing plus a short video.

Camden turns 7

Our sweet, witty middle child turned 7 today!  He was really excited for his big day and was happy we had a lot of plans to make it special.  The night before he got a lot of things ready to take to school for his special day.  He took his favorite book (minecraft) his favorite toy (legos) a souvenir (his monkey from Disney wearing his Disney shirt) and some pictures of him from the last 7 years.  He couldn't wait to show all of his class his special stuff. Then this morning he got to have his favorite breakfast. Packzi (pooch-key), specifically lemon with a powder sugar outside.  Then for lunch he had special visitors at school who brought him McDonalds (his choice) and a chocolate cupcake!  After school we had piano lessons and Carter's basketball game but came home to have cake and ice cream with friends!  He requested a Minecraft cake that I had a friend make.  After dessert the kids all played foosball and the Wii-U.  The adults even had a foosball tournament.  All in all it was a great day for a special kid! He also had his well child check and here are his stats 45# (22%) 3ft 11-3/4 inches (47%) and his BMI is 14.11 (11%) BP 104/50 and HR-80
