Salt Dogs Game

Firespring had a family fun night last Wednesday where we got to go to a Salt Dogs baseball game, eat a yummy dinner and meet Homer the mascot.  It was a decently hot night but the kids had fun running around with their friends and watching a bit of the game.

Kindergarten Check Up

Camden had his kindergarten check up about 2 weeks ago.  He couldn't do it right when he turned five so we waited until this summer.  He was a little apprehensive when we got there because I told him he needed to pee in a cup.  He was very curious and concerned about this request.  He asked many questions about it but mainly what anyone would want with his pee.  His weight was 37.5lbs which was 14%. His height was 3ft 7.5inches (40%) He had 20/30 vision and blood pressure was 88/60.  His physical exam checked out ok and after a few mental tests the doctor said he was ready for kindergarten.  That also meant he had to have a few immunizations and a finger poke.  I will say that Camden did a great job and was very brave.  He tends to think things are sometimes worse than they really are and he took them like a champ.  Here are a few pictures I took at the office.

Speedy summer

July is here already and I am barely able to catch my breath.  This summer will be over before we know it. When I look ahead all I see is weeks jam packed full of things to do.  Fun things for sure, but so much to keep us busy.  We have been spending a lot of time outside swimming and playing and soaking up all the summer sun we can.  We have also been trying to keep up with reading so that my two school age children will be ready when school starts.  We just finished the summer reading program and need to go get our last stickers for it to be official.  The last few weeks have been filled with play dates, and a mini vacation with grandma and grandpa Niebuhr.  I took the kids roller skating for the first time as well.  I don't really have a lot to update on the kids individually.  Camden had his kindergarten check but I will do that as a separate post.  Instead I will just post some pictures of what we have been up to lately and hopefully keep a better log of what the kids have been saying for my next general post.
summer swim lessons have started and we were lucky enough to have the kids at the same time since they are all 3 in different classes.
