Meet the teacher

We had meet the teacher night at the kids new school.  We walked up to the school to kind of see the route the kids will take.  It is so nice that it is so close.  The new school looked so nice inside and everything looked so great!  The layout is similar to their old school but they had pods for each of the grades.

We loved all the boys teachers and can't wait to see what this new year brings.  They are ready to go back I think.

Carter turns 9

Nine years ago today I became a mom. I brought an amazing little boy into this world who is quickly turning into a young man.  We were all excited to celebrate him.  He started his day off with a few presents and a pancake and bacon breakfast, his choice.  Then he chose to go bowling as a family later that afternoon. We were planning on going out to dinner afterwards but he really wanted to eat at the bowling alley because they had nachos.  So we did what the birthday boy wanted. We ended the night we Ben and Jerry's ice cream per his request and watching Goonies (through vid angle to take out the bad words). We had a lot of fun celebrating Carter!

Zoo with friends

The Wilkinson's invited us to go to the Lincoln Zoo one more time before school starts.  We don't have a pass there and it isn't cheap to get in (and it is not my favorite zoo) but it is nice a shady and makes for nice walk. The boys enjoyed being with friends and getting out of the house before summer ends.
the caterpillar is the best place for a photo op. i think i have one of the kids on it from the time they could sit.

the butterfly pavilion is also another hit for the kids.

Salt Dogs Game

Shawn and Carrie invited all of us plus the Scribner grandparents to go to the Salt Dogs game for all the August birthdays.  Unfortunately it rained all evening! The game kept getting delayed and at one point we drove back to Al and Karens and abandoned the idea of going. But around 9 the game was finally going to start so we decided to head out there instead of being party poopers. There were not very many people there and it was a cool enough night.

Snap Chat and random pictures

When we were in Texas, Sarah and Ray showed us the fun that is Snap Chat.  Our kids love it and we have had so much fun.  Since I haven't really done any random updates in a while I will just post some random photos including snap chat photos.

We had a really fun and busy summer.  We went to the pool with friends quite a bit, did some free bowling, attended camps, went on vacation, took art classes, played games, played with friends, rode bikes, played american ninja warrior, built legos, watched movies and enjoyed time outside. As the summer is wrapping up we are just trying to enjoy the last few moments of freedom and fun.

There is just about a week and a half left of summer and we have some plans to live it up.  Meet the teacher is coming up quicker than we expected but we are looking forward to the first day of school at the new school.
