Art Show

The boys had an art show at school.  They basically get to show one piece of art they choose that is hung up around the school.  So we went up to the school that night and walked around to find their little gems of art they wanted to show us.  It was cute seeing all the art on the walls and all the different things the kids did.  I just got one quick picture of each boy by their art project.

Camden rides a bike

Camden has been riding his bike some what for a long while now.  He just got frustrated easy and didn't want to practice because he didn't want to fail.  But one afternoon he decided to go out and give it a go.  He practiced for a little while on his own and now he can ride his bike.  Here is video of him. Sorry for my finger being over the camera like a person who doesn't understand electronics.

Defy Gravity birthday party

Callan went to a birthday party at defy gravity a few weekends ago and had a blast.  They got to do all the extra stuff which he loved and always begs me to do but never gets to.  Here are few pictures of him at the party and a video of him doing the rock wall.

Callan's Fun Night

Callan had his last preschool fun night a few weeks ago.  While the older boys were at piano I took just Callan to the fun night.  It is usually pretty crowded so it was nice just to take him.  He played the games and got his face painted.  His favorite part is the bounce houses, so that is where we spent most of our time.  It was a nice time just him and I.  One more "last" before preschool is over.

Spring Pictures

This guy got his spring and graduation pictures back the other day.  I can't believe it is my last preschool pictures I will ever get!  He looks so grown up and ready for kindergarten! He only has 2 weeks of school left! sniff sniff.

Carter ate his first peanut

We made it!  A huge milestone! Carter had his first peanut last Friday!  It was such a huge day.  He was really excited to try it out and knew this was a huge step in his OIT journey.  I was a lot more nervous than I thought I would be, but I didn't need to be.  He ate it like a champ and did well.  He liked the taste.  He said it tasted like it smelled.  I think he was really proud of himself.  We know have to weigh out peanuts that are between .85 and 1.05 grams. He has tolerated it well so far and it seems much easier, but also a little more scary.  It is such a huge dose of peanut.  We are trucking right along and it is going by so much faster than I anticipated.  I just can't believe that he is eating a peanut.  Here are some pictures from the day and a video of him eating his first peanut.

Callan's first soccer game

Callan had his first soccer game last Sunday.  He was really excited for it and talked about it non stop. We were interested to see how he did on a team and how he would act on the field.  Would he be aggressive, timid, fast, a leader, a follower, a good teammate?  He has watched his brothers play on different teams and we wondered how that might effect him.  He had a good first practice and game. They practice for 25 minutes and then scrimmage another team for 25 minutes.  He really got in there an hustled and went for the ball.  He seemed to know what to do depending on if he was on offense or defense.  He did however get upset when he came out of the game for the first time because they were losing.  He started to cry and say he "needed a gooder team!"  He was frustrated because he felt like no one was doing what they were suppose to be doing.  So we had a talk with him about how this is the first game and they have a lot of learning to do.  We also told him that he can never control what any one else does.  He can only control himself, so focusing on what he can do better will make him better.  He is playing on a team with his friend Brooks and one of our neighbors so he only knows two of the boys.  We are super lucky because Brooks dad and another dad are coaching and doing such a great job already.  It is nice to sit back and watch our boys without having to coach.

New Tables

I had a new farm house table made for us to replace our old kitchen table.  Our old one has seen better days and we were ready for something new.  I found a guy on Facebook in Lincoln who made these tables for a great price and asked him to do it.  We picked the stain and finish and he did all the rest!  While we were at it I had him make a coffee table too since ours was just too small for the space.  They turned out great!

Easter

We had a nice Easter weekend. The kids were out on Friday so the whole family went up to Omaha for Carter's OIT appointment. The appointment went well and then we ate at Jimmy's Egg afterwards. It was super good, and we found out they have one opening in Lincoln.  The weather wasn't that nice  for the weekend but we had a great time with family.  On Saturday we headed over to the Scribner grandparents house.  We had to have an egg hunt inside but that didn't bother the kids at all.  They love to hunt eggs anywhere.  We had a ham lunch with lots of sides, egg hunt, Easter baskets, and then some dessert.  The cousins enjoyed playing together and of course eating candy!  On Sunday we went to church and then came home to have our own egg hunt and basket find.  We relaxed in the afternoon and Chad and I even got to watch a documentary. We went over to the Niebuhr grandparents for a sandwich dinner, egg hunt and basket find as well.  The weather was a bit nicer so the got to do the hunt outside! Unfortunately Camden started feeling sick, got a fever, threw up and said his throat hurt.  He still participated in some of the fun but didn't eat much and laid around.  I took him to the doctor in the morning, only because I suspected strep from the look of his throat.  The rapid strep came back positive almost immediately.  After his first dose of antibiotics he felt better and was up and moving by the afternoon.  It was a nice long weekend with lots of fun family time.
