I don't even know where to begin it has been so long. I kept thinking of all the things I wanted to write in the blog and I had to start writing them down so I wouldn't forget. Lets start with some general updates. We have spent some time outdoors the last few weeks when the weather is nice, which makes Carter so happy. We have had some family gatherings and I have gotten back into the swing of things at work. Luckily I have been RTO'd several shifts which has made the adjustment so much nicer. Chad got sick with tonsilitis 2 weeks ago and then it turned into rotovirus which has made things a little hairy over here. Knock on wood, the rest of us have stayed healthy.
On to Carter. Carter keeps cracking us up on a regular basis. He is also a pain in our batooty as well. He is now tall enought to reach the counters and all drawers. So if you leave anything within on inch of the counter he will get it, plates, food, wrappers and even knives (these we all supervised grabs) He can also reach the stove which has really freaked me out a little because he is not scared enough when we yell HOT! He can reach into all drawers which has led to us needed to find new homes for sissors, lighters (to light candles, that I never use anymore), and other sharp objects. (oh who am I kidding we haven't found new homes yet, but we probably should) He can reach the door knobs as well but he can't turn them to open them, yet. He can however pull a door closed and he loves to do this. It gives him a huge sense of self confidence. He is talking a lot more now and is repeating a lot of what we say. I have some video to download of him saying a few words. Chad and I took the time to write down all of the words he can say on a regular basis and that are really close to the actual word. (I don't count please because he just says *me*. Although it is better than *ma* which is what he used to say. I also don't count banana because it usally sounds like mama.) So you can skip past the next few lines if you don't want to be bored. *mama, dada, hi, bye, uh oh, trash, Nase, pancake, cheese, baby, nose, toes, eye, brush, pizza, shoes, up, down, night night, button, all done, no, door, house, snack, ball, pig, apple, choo choo, bumbo, hot, rake, beast, okay, binky, woof woof, moo, and whee*. I am sure there are more, but these are the ones we feel like most people would understand. (I have to add that Carter REFUSES to say Camden. He won't even try)

I have to tell a funny story about Carter. He loves the trash and he loves putting things in the trash. He throws his diapers away for us and anything else we give him. So one night I had friends over to scrapbook and when they were leaving Rene couldn't find her shoes. We looked all over until we found them where Carter had put them. In the laundry basket (trash). It was so funny. We have since seen all of our shoes we keep in the laundry room in the basket as well. Silly boy.

Now on to Camden. Oh little Cam what can I say about you? He is doing pretty good. He still has some fussy days or days he doesn't sleep well but when he is well rested and doesn't have a sour stomach he is a happy happy little stinker. He smiles a ton now and is really loving watching Carter play. He will track him around the room and smile and laugh at him. I caught him laughing at Carter the other day and Carter loved it and kept laughing and smiling at Camden. This went on for about a minute and it was so cute. I think Carter is starting to come around and realize his brother might be fun some day. I weighed Camden today for his 3 month spot on the baby book and he was 12lbs 14.8oz. He hasn't gained as much I would have liked but I think it is ok. He is enjoying his play gym more and more but is not a fan of the johnny jumper yet. (see pictures) Since I have so many pictures this time I am going to put them in a web album. So click on the picture below to see more pictures

It's Official...

Camden is 3 Months Old!
What I have learned about my 3 month old. He smiles a lot. He likes to be held or talked to when awake. He LOVES watching his brother play and has purposely smiled and laughed at him and Carter likes it as well. He is still on reflux meds and has mostly good days but has an occasional bad day. He takes a good afternoon nap from 1-3 or 4 most days (unless I have to work or I really need a nap, my children conspire against me). He goes to bed about 7:30 and wakes up at 2ish to eat and then on average 6:30am. I don't feel like I see any signs of him trying to drop that 2am feeding. He is tall. He has long legs. He has eczema but it seems to be more under control then Carters at this age. He still loves to be held facing out. His eyes are still very blue. He hates tummy time. He loves his mobile. AND he still has not peed on my when changing his diaper.

3 month photo session

We had Camden's 3 month pictures taken today. It went surprisingly well and we got a lot more pictures than we should have. Carter did pretty good except he wasn't that excited to sit still. The funniest part was when he was holding Camden on the ground. He sat there unexcited and then finally he was done and he just pushed Camden out of the way. Not in a mean way but just an "I'm done with this now" It made me laugh.

Here are the outtakes of the day.

Carter's fascination

Mom and her boys ( I look pretty tired in this picture sorry)
"look guys, it is his hand"

"that is his nose"

"This is his head""don't cry little brother, I am not finished poking you yet"

"this is his mouth, but don't bite me"

"what did you say?"

"ok seriously mom, I am done here."

Here are a series of pictures I just had to share. Carter loves touching his brother. He likes to point out all of his body parts and handle him like he would any other toy, rough. It cracks me up when he holds him because he wants both hands free to touch him, not hold him. Carter is turning into such a ham, he has me laughing everyday.

Easter

We had a very fun but busy Easter weekend. We started the day with a great church service and then we went over to my moms house for fruit salsa, cinnamon chips and mimosas. Then we watched the kids open easter baskets and then we went outside for an Easter egg hunt. Carter did really well he just needed some one to remind him what he was doing. Silly boy. As you can see we didn't have the nicest weather but our son still wore his shorts. We then ate a delicious lunch and then went home for a much needed nap for all of us. When we woke up we went to Chad's grandmas place for another hunt and dinner. Over all it was a great day. Fun was had by all.

Carter's first haircut

Well the time has come and we decided to get Carter's hair cut. He had these little curls on the side of his head that I didn't want to cut off yet but his hair was so scraggly. He was starting to look like an orphan child so I went ahead and did it. He did pretty good sitting in the chair but he really wanted down to go play with the toys. As you can see by the look on his face he was pretty *blah* during the whole thing. I think he was wondering what was going on. In the end he looked like a handsome little man and was no longer my baby. The good thing is he will have healthy hair now that will hopefully grow. Carter will do it again because he was happy about the balloon especially and he had his first sucker. He only got to eat the sucker for a few minutes since it was close to bed time. Let me tell you he was so sad when we took it away.

Our last 2 weeks have been crazy busy. We had been getting out as much as we can when it is nice and last weekend we had Tim, Kelly and their kids come visit. We had a barbecue and a lot of time to visit. We wish they lived closer so we could do more with them. Since I only have one week left of maternity leave I have been taking the kids out to do a few more things since it will be harder once I go back. This week Chad and I took Carter to Lost in Fun for the morning and on Tuesday we went to the Children's Museum with Erin and the kids. Today Carter got to go to story time with my mom like he does every Wednesday. He loves that. Carter has also been able to spend some quality time with Grandma and Grandpa Scribner. On Saturday Grandpa took him to Target and to the mall to walk around and explore. Carter loves his time with him. Especially since he has him wrapped around his little finger! I think all of his explorations have lead to an explosion of words. Carter has started to repeat a lot of what we say. Some examples are when we read a book and point out things like trees, tires, dog, book, and phone he will repeat them. Some he will even repeat more than once. He is also saying up and down which is something he wouldn't ever do before he would just point. He also likes to repeat and point to what kind of food he has on his plate. He said "pizza pizza" the other day and when we play with his play pizza he will say it as well. He can now let me know when he needs a drink or a snack. He can point to random objects in a book (when he is in the mood). He goes to story time every week and every week he gets more and more involved with the songs. He can do itsy bitsy spider and wheels on the bus. He has learned to stomp his feet. He can point to most body parts now and says eye, nose, and toes the most. But his favorite obsession right now is the belly button. He walks around saying "ba-batson" He wants to find everyones belly button. One day Camden wore a t-shirt so Carter was able to find his but he usually wears onesies which make it hard to get to. So now every time I feed Camden, Carter comes over and wants to find his "button" He also gets confused and looks on his back. He doesn't like it when he can't get to the button. The other funny part to this is that he thinks that Nase's "pee pee" is his belly button and wants to poke that. We do not like that (neither does Nase) and we have to tell him that that is not Nase's button. Carter also has an obsession with wheels. He loves anything with wheels. He will spin them around while saying "round and round". He will also *pretend* to be spinning wheels and take his hands like he is grabbing two balls and spin his hands around. It is super cute. We were also inspired by our friends Sarah and Ray and decided to give Carter a pillow. He loves it and it keeps him from sleeping all crazy like he use to. I have a picture of it but it is still on the camera and I had too many pictures but I will post it later. Carter also got a new tooth on the bottom this week. His mouth is almost full now.
Camden doesn't have a lot new to report. He is going down about 7-8, sleeping till about 2ish and then getting up at 6-7. He does get up at 1 and cry and we give him his pacifier or he will wake up at 5 and we do the same. But last night he just woke up at 2:30 and then 6:15 and I felt like I got a lot better sleep. He is cooing a lot more now and smiles a ton. He wants to have more interaction with us during the day and is noticing Carter more.
We got a new vacuum about 2 weeks ago which we love. It is the new dyson animal vacuum with ball. It is amazing what you can pick up with a good vacuum. Anyway that is all that I can think of now. Enjoy! sorry for all the pictures, but I had a lot.
