I found them playing like this. Carter had piled all the toys around Camden

this was just too cute not to post

This is what happens when you leave kids unattended while putting away laundry

a day stuck inside is a day to make forts

January has been a really long long month for us. It has been a month full of fevers, antibiotics, countless doctor visits, crabby kids, busy days, big events, and tiredness. I was hoping that 2010 would start off with a bang but it was more of a dud. All the yuckyness aside the kids are still being their funny selves and amazing us everyday. I haven't been the greatest about taking pictures either but here are some of the highlights.
We have spent a lot of days couped up since everyone has been sick which means finding our own fun. We built a lot of forts, played with a ton of playdoh and made lots of messes. It is funny how much Carter and Camden play together now (on a good day) and do it without fighting. I just love what I walk into if I step away to put away laundry or the dishes. Carter is usually the ring leader and shows Camden how to empty out the cupboards or he will pile all the toys around Camden, which he thinks if funny until he can't get out. I love watching Camden laugh at all the silly antics that Carter does, except it does fuel Carter's fire and he does it more and usually takes it one step to far. Carter also got his first dose of "life isn't fair" this month. When it was time to put toys away Carter said "Tamen help" and we said, "sorry buddy Camden is too little but one day he will help you" It is kind of sad though because Camden does make a lot of the mess. Carter has a new/quirky/annoying thing he is doing now at bedtime. After we tuck him in he gets up and lays by his door and puts his fingers underneath as if to summon help. If we ignore him long enough he will start to call our names or rattle the door. We have tried talking to him through the door, opening the door, and ignoring it all together and nothing seems to really nip it in the bud. The good thing is, once he is told to go back to bed, he never gets back up again. It is really frustrating though. He has continued to enjoy anything and everything "monkey george" (curious george) We read 1,000 monkey george books a day and he requests to watch it everyday too! The good thing is if I have to make dinner or get something done it keeps him occupied for 30mins. Thank you PBS kids! I feel like Carter's vocabulary has soared lately. He is talking in lots of sentences and is talking about a lot more things. If you ask him what he did that day he will list off several things. He has a crazy good memory and still talks about the time "we didn't make it" over to Erin and Brian's on Christmas because "the tractors didn't move the snow" That is something he talks about everyday. He is counting to 10 and saying his ABC's without prompting, but not if you ask. And we finally got rid of the worst question in the world "WHY"! But is was replaced with "what happened?"
Camden is going to crawl for the rest of his life! This boy refuses to stand without assistance. He will sit down every time we try. he can walk with us by holding on to one finger and does well and can maneuver just about anything while holding on. He just has NO desire to walk on his own. Little stinker. He has switched over to whole milk this week and is doing well. We are working on getting rid of the bottle which I hope will be done in the next two weeks. Then we will tackle the binky. We are getting his one year pictures taken this weekend by
lifesastoryphotography.com so you will have to check back and see those.
